When I first publicly used the term free range to describe my relationship style and kink orientation, I was attending a local polyamory discussion group. In our banter after the session, a vision was born of a cute little chicken with a ball gag in her mouth, used to symbolize how I navigate spaces and relationships independently.
Now, I refer to my home as The Coop, and run a discord server with the same name, where like-minded friends can come together. I think of it both as a play on a chicken coop, for my free range friends, but also as a co-op for how we navigate polyamory. Although I am free range in my approach to relationships, they require with cooperation with others, working towards a shared goal.
I plan to launch The Coop server as a resource for followers to learn more about polyamory and kink, and to provide a safe space for asking questions, sharing resources and more.
